Alumni Feature Campaign

Learning Transformed Initiative Image

Are you an alumni? We want to feature you!

We are excited to be conducting a promotional campaign that will feature some of our program alumni!

This initiative aims to highlight four notable alumni of our part-time Masters cohorts and showcase their unique work, projects and initiatives within their school and district, as it relates to their completed graduate degree.

Selected alumni will be profiled and featured via a large-scale promotional campaign, and they will receive a $500 stipend to assist with their teaching initiatives and current or future projects.

Alumni projects and initiatives should broadly align with the UBC Strategic Plan, the Faculty of Education’s Strategic Plan, and/or PDCE’s 3 Pillars.

Eligibility

To participate in this initiative, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Have graduated from a part-time MEd cohort within the past 10 years
  • Be currently working locally in the Lower Mainland, in a school district or other related sector
  • Be available during May–June 2022 for on-site photography and interviews

Financial Stipend

Successful applicants will receive a $500 stipend* that must specifically be used on projects and initiatives related to the recipient’s work, as outlined in their application, and as it relates to their completed part-time MEd cohort.

*The process for receiving the financial award will involve the recipient first spending the necessary funds out-of-pocket, then submitting the receipts to PDCE for reimbursement through our Finance office, for a maximum reimbursement of $500CAD.

Promotional Campaign

The Alumni Feature campaign will involve promotional aspects which include, but are not limited to, the following activities:

  • Selected alumni will be photographed* in their place of work, exhibiting their innovative teaching methods, initiatives, and projects.
  • Alumni will be interviewed (either in-person or via an online Q&A form) and asked to share how their part-time MEd program has supported their current career and/or how it has influenced their current teaching practices.
  • An article will be written for each alumni profile and promoted on the PDCE website, social media channels, newsletters, digital signs, and program materials.
  • Articles may be shared on the UBC Faculty of Education website and social media channels, and may be shared more broadly with UBC campus-wide promotions.
  • Alumni features will be advertised on Lower Mainland transit ads (in city buses and/or at skytrain stations).
*We would like to take photographs of alumni in action at work (e.g. in the classroom). However, photography locations can be flexible.

Timeline

The deadline to apply is April 22, 2022.

We are aiming to schedule interviews and photography with selected alumni in May and June.

The promotional campaign will run in the Fall of 2022.
