Diplomas

This program is designed for professionals wishing to acquire new skills or to build on their current knowledge base regarding adult learning. Appropriate for those who do not want to pursue a graduate degree but are interested in developing skills and knowledge in organizing, conducting, evaluating or administering programs for adult learners.

Within UBC’s overall program in art education, is a faculty commitment to ongoing in–service for art teachers. Whenever possible, practicing teachers are encouraged to upgrade their expertise and qualifications by returning to UBC for additional courses.

A 30 credit Diploma in Education - Curriculum and Instructional Studies will enable teachers to explore new fields of curricular or instructional study or to further their studies in a field of interest for professional purposes.

This diploma is designed for teachers, early childhood educators, and other early childhood professionals who are interested in enhancing their professional practice with young children (pre-school to grade 3).

The Guidance Studies Diploma offers teachers and other professionals background information and basic skills and concepts in school guidance work.

This Health Education program is designed for educators currently working in health education programs in school and non-school settings.

This 30 credit post-degree program is designed to help teachers extend and deepen their knowledge of theory and pedagogy related to the teaching of home economics in schools.

Assists IDSC consultants to raise their skill and knowledge levels beyond the introductory level, to enhance their level of practice, and to assist them in providing leadership (focus on ages birth to 9 years).

The Diploma in Language and Literacy Education is an in-service program for teachers and administrators who wish to deepen and extend their knowledge of curriculum, instruction, assessment and evaluation for diverse types of school populations

Participants in the Mathematics Education program will gain experience in and subject expertise and knowledge of the teaching of mathematics at the school level. The program is open to teachers and professionals in related areas.
